Victor Valley Jail is the parent station of two satellite patrol substations: Lucerne Valley Substation and the Phelan Substation. A captain and lieutenant are assigned to the Victor Valley Station: the captain is responsible for all operations of the command, and the lieutenant is second in command. The station also houses the Desert Dispatch Center.

The command includes a Type-I jail. One corporal, 9 deputies and 5 Sheriff's custody specialists are responsible for maintaining and running the jail and booking facilities for the Victor Valley High Desert area. The jail services the California Highway Patrol, the town of Apple Valley, the cities of Adelanto, Hesperia and Victorville, as well as parole and probation. It is still the busiest Type-1 jail in the county, booking over 9,600 persons and processing over 14,500 inmates through the court system with a daily inmate population averaging more than 95.

The San Bernardino County Jail in Rancho Cucamonga is also known as The West Valley Detention Center Jail, located at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue tel.# 909-899-2037. The Rancho Cucamonga jail is a mile form highway 15 freeway. When posting bail for someone at the West Valley Detention Center you will need to contact a bondsman to assist you.

Call 1-310-645-2245. to speak to a licensed San Bernardino County Bail Bondsman, who can answer your questions and arrange the release of your loved one immediately.

Since this is one of the busiest jails in Southern California you will want to allow sufficient time to visit someone or post bail. Please see Visiting Information Below. In order to post a bail bond at either West Valley or the Central Detention Center located at 630 East Rialto Avenue you will need the assistance of a licensed bail bond agent.

The Central Detention Center (CDC) served as the County of San Bernardino's main jail from 1971 to 1992. CDC was closed for a short time and retrofitted to modern jail standards. In 1994, a contract was established between the federal government and CDC to accept and house federal inmates, pending court procedures or assignment to a federal prison facility. With this contract, CDC has become the west coast hub for transportation and housing of federal inmates for the United States Marshals Service.

Federal inmates are transported daily to CDC from throughout the continental United States and the Pacific Rim islands. This procedure is accomplished through the United States Marshals airlift service and the Sheriff's transportation detail.

The Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center consists of two facilities under one command. The Female Facility had an average population of 193 inmates while the Male Facility had an average population of 883 inmates.

The San Bernardino County jails will only accept bonds from a licensed bail bond agent who can show proof of his San Bernardino, California license.
